16th Teesside Company
The 16th Teesside BB Company meets each Monday evening during term time at Stockton Baptist Church, The Square, Stockton on Tees, TS18 1TE. For further information on the company or church please contact the church office on 01642 602223 or visit Stockton Baptist Church
The Company was originally formed in 1936 operating as the 8th Stockton and was led by David Lewis as Captain. The Company disbanded for the duration of World War 2 but was reinstated in 1946. Its current membership consists of approx 30 boys with Alan McDonald as Captain, having taken over in 2008.
Activities include the full programme of BB badge work in all sections. The Queens Badge (the most prestigious badge that the BB awards) was presented in 2010 to one of the Company’s’ members after much hard work. The Company leadership are keen to build on this success.
Outdoor pursuits have always been a major part of the Company’s activities of which annual camp at Redmire in Wensleydale is the highlight, as well as a tradition.
Thanks and appreciation is due to previous Captains for hard work and constant commitment; these include: Jack Burns, Harry Burns, Derek Finley, John Burns, Gary Robertson, Peter Burns and Andrew Symmonds.
The Company meets as follows:
Anchor Boys (School years 1 -3) each Monday from 6:00pm until 7:00pm
Junior Section (School years 4 -6) each Monday from 6:30pm until 7:45pm
Company Section (School year 7 +) each Monday from 7:15pm until 9:00pm
